Louisville issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.
The first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were delivered this week, and in keeping with Colorado’s distribution timeline, highest risk healthcare workers, including healthcare workers right here in Louisville, and other highest risk individuals will begin to receive their first dose of the two dose vaccine.
While the delivery of the first shipment of vaccines is a significant step in ending the public health crisis, we have not crossed the finish line yet.
As we head into the holidays, we need to continue to do what we know works to limit the spread of the virus:
- Wear a mask
- Stay at least six feet away from others
- Avoid social interactions with people outside your household
- Only gather with family and friends virtually and don’t have personal gatherings
- Consider signing up for the Exposure Notification app
Get Tested
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is encouraging anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 or anyone who has come into contact with someone who has COVID-19 to get tested. Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, muscle pain, new loss of taste or smell, and chills.
Free COVID-19 testing is available at several free community testing sites for anyone who would like to be tested. Individuals do not have to have symptoms to be tested. You must wear a mask at all times at the testing sites. For more information about testing and testing sites, visit Boulder County’s website.
Sincerely,
Mayor Stolzmann
