The nonprofit Write on Sports partnered with Metropolitan State University of Denver to introduce middle school students to careers in sports journalism, while also helping to build their writing and communication skills. During the weeklong camp on the Auraria Campus, students heard from former Bronco Ryan Harris about the importance of perseverance and hard work, and they got advice from sports journalists such as Ryan O’Halloran from the Denver Post. Campers also created podcasts, interviewed MSU Denver student-athletes and spent a day in the press box at Coors Field for a Rockies game.
