Colorado’s Lily Assini, Elena Oh, Jess Peluso, and Maddie Shoup received All-American honors as announced by USA Lacrosse Magazine on May 7. This marks the fourth consecutive season that Colorado Buffaloes women’s lacrosse has been represented in the national awards.

The recognition includes a Third Team selection for Peluso, which is the highest honor for a Buffaloes player since 2018. Assini, Oh, and Shoup were named honorable mentions. The four selections are the most in a single season for Colorado and bring the program’s total to seven All-America selections by USA Lacrosse Magazine.

Peluso became the first player in school history to earn multiple conference player of the year awards with back-to-back Big 12 Defender of the Year titles. She started all 17 games this season and leads her conference with an average of 2.24 caused turnovers per game. Peluso also holds several school records including career caused turnovers (109), ranks fifth in draw controls (158), and sixth in ground balls (107). She was included on both the Preseason Tewaarton Watch List and as a unanimous All-Big 12 selection.

Assini finished third on her team with 29 goals this season while tying for first with 18 assists. She has scored at least one point in each of her last 33 games dating back to last year.

Oh posted all fourteen wins for Colorado this season as goalkeeper, allowing just 6.32 goals per game—the lowest average both nationally and within her conference—and earned seven Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors along with being named Goalkeeper of the Year.

Shoup led Colorado’s offense with team-highs in both goals (38) and assists (18), ranking among conference leaders for goals per game and assists per game. After scoring eight goals last weekend she was named Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

All-Americans were selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff with input from coaches and conferences across the country.
