Colorado Buffaloes women’s tennis finished the season ranked No. 75 in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll, according to a May 20 announcement from the team.

The ranking marks the eleventh time this season that Colorado appeared in the national rankings, which is their most since 2010. The team’s consistent presence among top programs highlights progress made throughout a challenging year.

Despite ending with a record of 10-13, Colorado reached as high as No. 51 earlier in the season after posting key wins over Minnesota, UNLV, and Iowa State. The Buffs also upset No. 28 Oklahoma State at home during Big 12 play, marking their highest-ranked victory since 2023 and helping them to a strong start at 10-4 before injuries affected performance later in the schedule.

Aya El Sayed received recognition for her contributions by being named Big 12 Conference Player of the Week following the win over Oklahoma State—the first Buff to earn that honor since 2023—and was also selected Second-Team All-Big 12. El Sayed became just the sixth player in program history to be honored across three different seasons and is the first since Julyette Steur achieved this from 2013 through 2015.

Off court achievements included a fall team grade point average of 3.38. El Sayed was joined by Lera Alexin, Pia Rebec, and Rixt van der Werff on this year’s College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for their academic accomplishments.
