The Colorado women’s basketball team announced on April 18 the addition of graduate student forward Anete Adler, a transfer from Boston University, to its roster for the 2026-27 season.

Adler’s signing is significant as she brings both experience and versatility to the Buffaloes’ lineup. Her performance at Boston University included being named to the All-Patriot League Second Team, All-Defensive Team, and Academic All-Patriot League Team. She led her team with career-high averages of 15.4 points and six rebounds per game, along with a .500 field goal percentage and a league-leading 48 blocks.

“We’re excited to add Anete to our program,” head coach JR Payne said. “She brings a tremendous amount of experience and a strong presence in the post. She has a versatile skill set that allows her to impact the game in multiple ways, and I know that she will be a great fit here at CU.”

Adler played in 28 games during the 2024-25 season, starting once while averaging over eight points per game on efficient shooting percentages. Her earlier collegiate career included stints at Rhode Island before transferring to Boston University prior to the 2023-24 season. Internationally, Adler represented Estonia in FIBA competitions and was recognized as MVP during her time with Team G4S Noorteliiga.

Beyond her individual achievements, Adler participated in NBA Academy programs aimed at developing top international high school athletes both on and off the court.

The announcement comes after Colorado confirmed four other transfer signings this week: Aniya’ Foy, Brooke Walker, Mecailin Marshall, and Kira Reynolds. The Buffaloes have also shared updates about returning players including Zyanna Walker, Jade Crook, Kennedy Sanders, Maeve McErlane, Sophie Zadel, and Claire O’Connor.

Colorado women’s basketball recently concluded its season with an NCAA Tournament appearance—the team’s fourth tournament showing in five years—finishing sixth in the Big 12 conference.
