City of Boulder issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.

SWS is an annual service offered between Oct. 1 and May 31 that is triggered by certain weather conditions. The CRC is a facility that provides a safe and segmented space for individuals that are symptomatic or test positive for COVID-19 to quarantine while they recover from illness. These two services are critical to the health and safety of individuals experiencing homelessness this winter.

Increased inquiries from the community members for data about these programs prompted HHS to create an easy to access a dashboard to help keep the community informed. Historical information was included when available, but most of the data is from 2020. The dashboard will be updated daily, with a week delay to allow for data collection and reporting from the shelters.

“Data driven decision making is a key component of our homelessness strategy,” said Kurt Firnhaber, director of Housing and Human Services. “Making this information available to the public in an easy to read format helps the community be better informed about our efforts.”

SWS is located at Boulder Shelter for the Homeless 4869 N. Broadway. Individuals experiencing homelessness or in need of shelter are encouraged to engage with services or year-round programming. Information related to when SWS will be open is provided on this page, and people can also call the BSH SWS Hotline at 720-663-9236.The first step to engaging with services in Boulder is to contact Coordinated Entry, 303-359-4404.
