There were 1,871 seniors over 79 in the United States who tested positive for COVID-19 during the week ending August 16, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Out of those who provided figures, 485 individuals were hospitalized and 113 were admitted to the ICU.

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Association stated that in the United States, children represent about 9 percent of all COVID-19 cases. The Mayo Clinic points out that children of all ages can contract COVID-19 but most don’t become as ill as adults and some show no symptoms at all.
